A 7-Day Golf Tour Through Romania's Castles, Saxon Villages and Vineyards

Day 1 – Arrival in Bucharest

Upon arrival at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport, your private driver and guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a short sightseeing tour of Bucharest's most representative landmarks or head directly to the hotel to check in and relax.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at one of Bucharest's outstanding restaurants, introducing you to Romania's culinary traditions.

Day 2 – Peles Castle, Bran Castle and the Carpathian Mountains

We begin our journey into the Carpathian Mountains with a visit to Peleș Castle, the magnificent former summer residence of Romania's royal family. Admire its elegant architecture, elaborate woodwork, and spectacular mountain setting.

Next, we visit Bran Castle, internationally known as Dracula's Castle. Beyond the famous legend, the fortress has fascinating connections to Queen Marie of Romania and the country's royal history. Your guide will separate historical facts from the myths surrounding this iconic landmark.

We end the day in one of Romania's most attractive mountain resorts, where a traditional dinner awaits.

Day 3 – Brașov, Viscri and Medieval Sighișoara

After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of Brașov's historic center. Once one of Transylvania's wealthiest towns, Brașov was protected by extensive stone fortifications. Its landmark Black Church, one of the region's most important Gothic monuments, reflects the city's prosperous Saxon past. We finish in the picturesque Council Square, an ideal spot for a coffee before continuing our journey.

Our next destination is Viscri, a traditional Saxon village famously associated with King Charles III. Explore its fortified church and enjoy lunch in an authentic Saxon home, discovering the region's rural heritage and traditional cuisine.

In the afternoon, we travel to Sighișoara, a beautifully preserved medieval citadel founded by Saxon settlers in the 13th century. Its colorful houses, cobblestone lanes, and historic towers create an atmosphere that transports visitors back in time. The citadel is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4 – Mălâncrav, Transylvanian Wine Tasting and Golf Resort

We start the day in Mălâncrav, a peaceful Saxon village known for its remarkable medieval heritage. Visit the historic Apafi Manor, carefully restored through a heritage conservation initiative supported by King Charles III's charitable organization, and admire the exceptional medieval frescoes preserved inside the village's fortified church.

We then continue to the Târnave wine region, where a guided tasting introduces us to distinctive Transylvanian wines and the centuries-old traditions of local winemaking.

In the afternoon, arrive at your golf resort and enjoy some leisure time before dinner.

Day 5 – Golf, Relaxation and Alba Carolina Citadel

Today is dedicated to golf and relaxation. Enjoy time on the course or take advantage of the resort's facilities, which may include an outdoor swimming pool, terrace, and practice areas.

In the afternoon, we visit Alba Carolina Citadel, one of Europe's largest Vauban-style fortresses. Its history spans several eras, from the Roman military presence to its role in medieval Transylvania and its importance in modern Romanian history. The citadel was also the setting for the coronation of King Ferdinand I and Queen Marie in 1922.

Day 6 – Sibiu, the Olt Valley and Drăgășani Wine Country

After breakfast, we cross the Carpathian Mountains along the scenic Olt River Valley, heading towards Drăgășani, one of Romania's renowned wine regions.

Our first stop is Sibiu, a historic Transylvanian city named European Capital of Culture in 2007. Discover its elegant squares, medieval streets, colorful buildings, and architectural landmarks on a guided walking tour. Enjoy lunch in the historic center before continuing south.

In the afternoon, visit a local winery for a guided tasting of regional wines, learning about the area's winemaking traditions and distinctive grape varieties.

We spend our final evening together in Drăgășani, enjoying a relaxed dinner accompanied by wines from this celebrated Romanian wine region.

Day 7 – Return to Bucharest
